Zanden 5000S Digital to Analog Converter Have you ever heard a standard CD sound better than a top flite SACD player, if the answer is yes they I guess you have already heard the Zanden. Am I exaggerating, not in the slightest, it is more musical, more harmonically rich and musically correct, it does not fall foul of the SACD convertor sound (yes it has one) and there are millions more albums available and they are cheaper. For a moment I thought I was listening to Vinyl, yes its that good! |

BOULDER 2020 ADVANCE D/A CONVERTOR DETAILS The 2020 D/A Converter is an incredible combination of digital and analog engineering assembled together in a luxurious chassis. During creation of the Boulder 2020, it was obvious that there was a lack of attention to the analog in other designs. By including the required quantity of 993 stages, sonic clarity was taken to a level beyond any other design. The three section chassis design (left audio, right audio, and digital) removes any interference between the analog and digital sections. An elegant combination of stainless steel, aluminum and powder coating complements any decor. The attention to detail in both the digital and analog sections will bring new life to your entire music library. Design Features
Instead of using ICs intended for video amplification, Boulder uses five 993 gain stages in each channel. The first 993 is used for current to voltage convertion at the output of the DACs; three more compromise the 6-pole Bessel anti-imaging analog filter for the best transient response; a fifth unit provides balanced audio output. This attention to analog performance is simply unprecedented. Total crystal re-clocking completely eliminated jitter, and an eight times oversampling FIR digital filter produces superb transient response. Five Burr-Brown DACs in parallel per channel significantly lower distortion and increase accuracy to theoretical limits. Boulder's unique three-chassis design affords maximum isolation between digital and analog circuitry. The separate power supply chassis houses independent regulated supplies for each channel, as well as the digital / display chassis. |
