EINSTEIN "The Turntable's Choice" Phonostage

As analog fans with large LP collections, the development of this phonostage was an assignment close to our hearts.

Because we prefer MC cartridges, we set out to develop the ultimate moving-coil preamplifier. ‘The Turntable’s Choice’ inspires with its dynamic agility, precisely tracking bass lines and a vocal range that is filled with emotive tone, body and a powerful projective force, all perfectly balanced by a harmoniously effulgent treble. Soundstaging and image specificity are unbelievably holographic and fleshed out.

"It was among the most neutral, dynamic, transparent phono preamps I have ever heard- if not the most. The Einstein's midrange delicacy and airiness rivaled those of the best tubed phono pre-amps I've heard from BAT and Manley, though with perhaps even greater airiness and freedom from congestion, and certainly with greater dynamic capabilities at both ends of the scale and deeper, tighter bass. Overall it may just be the best sounding, most neutral phono pre-amp I've ever heard." -Michael Fremer, Stereophile July 2006.

EINSTEIN "The Turntable's Choice" Phonostage

To be candid with you, this phono stage is a bit of a bargain. I know that we are still talking about a serious chunk of pocket change here but so often in the hifi world products are hyped and touted as the next best thing. It happens all of the time so when a genuine product comes along which re-defines a category at its price point it dosn't always create a tsunami of reviews.

Boy oh boy is this one of those products. There are several phono stages that I would classify as "Class A" and they all have one thing in common, they are reassuringly expensive and they make much more of a difference to sound quality than you would credit before listening to one.

One advantage of the Einstein Phono Stage is its very practical size, you do not need to devote a rack shelf to the phono stage as it is compact and bijou.

How does it sound? The Sax soars, the dynamics burst from a silent background and Eva Cassidy caused me to tear up. It throws a wall to wall soundstage and can rock with the best of them. I guess the timing is spot on as my foot didn't stop tapping. Do yourself a favour come listen no more convincing will be required, Class A with bells on.

DPS 3 Main difference between the dps 2 and dps 3 is in the upgraded motor/power supply. To answer the question, yes it is worth the extra outlay in funds. If you havn't heard it then you could happily go through life secure in the knowledge that you have an excellent turntable, in fact one of the very best. However hear the difference the dps 3 makes and you just have to have it, much closer to the master tape than it has any right to be at anything near this price.

Lyra SkalaAt first listen, you will instantly hear a tremendous sense of dynamics with incredible amounts of fine, low-level musical detail. The Skala combines this incredible detail retrieval with a tremendous sense of warmth and musicality. What’s even more astounding is the noise level of this cartridge; it’s almost undetectable!

Zanden 1200S Phono stage The all new Zanden 1200S phono stage is a remarkable achievement in the world of analog reproduction. Not only is the Model 1200S a world class performer in impact and musicality, but it also offers the serious vinyl music lover the choice of proper equalization for recordings from the 50's clear on through to the 80s.

Triplanar Precision Tone arm MKVII Why do triplanar only produce one tone arm? Simply because it is the best tone arm that they can produce and is widely acknowledged to be one of the finest tone arms in the world. Good accurate engineering costs money and takes time which is reflected in the very reasonable cost for such an item.
