EINSTEIN "TheTube" Linestage

‘The Tube’ represents the heart of EINSTEIN’s current lineup of innovative audio components. Not a remake of legendary vintage architectures, ‘The Tube’ is instead based on a radical new concept full of novel ideas and proprietary execution. It appropriates the highest potential of tube technology while simultaneously insisting on uncompromised test bench performance.

"Einstein's The Tube is an unusual preamp, and a special one, too. Whether it's "revolutionary," "evolutionary" or just plain "original," I can't think of another preamp quite like it. Its topology is inspired, but it's not just for show, creating a presentation whose essential lack of noise makes for thrilling dynamics. Its bass is crushing in its depth and impact, and its vivid up-front perspective will never cause you to strain to hear the slightest detail anywhere in the soundstage. All of this doesn't mean that The Tube is brutish; it captures and conveys the delicacy of each recording with the best of its competition." - Marc Mickelson, Soundstage.com

"The Tube Linestage is easily the best audio component I own.  With the insertion of the Einstein, I put the degree of change in my system's sound on the order of a speaker change, like  moving from bookshelves to full range 20hz floorstanders.  This preamp is a paradigm-shift, and brings  the dynamic tilt of live music into the home more than any other electronic component (note: I didn’t say  “speakers”, I said “component”).  The Tube Linestage is not made for home theatre or casual listening;  however, if dynamics are your thing, or if live music is your thing, I cannot imagine any preamp outclassing the Einstein.  Yes, I bought one." - dagago.com, Ryan Coleman

For Roland Kraft of Image and Holger Barkse of Stereo (two popular German audio magazines), ‘The Tube’ combined the very best sonics and most flawless measurements ever encountered.

A well engineered product measures well and a well designed product sounds good, getting both in the same package is more unusual that you might think. There are those who think that a line stage is a waste of time and that you would be better off with a passive volume control, after all if there are less components then the sound will be passing through less components and will be compromised less.

Unfortunately this is not true, linestages are critical to getting the most out of your system and are much more than just a volume control. With a really good line stage like this one, you get increased dynamic speed and a bigger more solid sound, the frequency extremes are extended and subtle musical queues are not lost in the mix. It all makes perfect sense so much so that a quick listen will convince you.
