The modular design also offers clear functionality. The system is based on aluminium stars. These provide support for solid beechwood struts in six different positions. As the beechwood struts are also available in three different lengths, it is simple to create 18 surface areas of different size. The height of a level can be varied in three centimetre steps so that both flat and high units can be accommodated in the SPIDER°. And weight problems are unknown to the SPIDER°: each level can support up to 100 kg without any trouble. If required the height of the SPIDER° can be increased by fitting additional units or expanded with extra levels. The SPIDER° has been developed as a bolted structure and is therefore packaged and shipped ready-to-assemble in space-saving modular units. All packaging material can be returned to Finite Elemente for recycling. |
