German Physiks - The Gaudi MK II

What do you do to make the worlds best speaker better, R&D. German Physiks spends more time and money on R&D than any other High End speaker company that I know of, they took 7 years to bring their first product to market.

"These speakers are VERY nice. Not only do they sound good but they look amasing as well. If someone goes round your house they are bound to say "Those are the coolest speakers I have ever seen!" They are a little on the big sidd, but thats a small price to pay for perfection. However for the price you could get the band to play live for you anyway. There isn't much point me trying to describe the sound. They sound, well... Real! They dont have silky smooth mids, or nice high treble. The just sound as the music was played. You do need a big room. If you read the reviews for the Wilson Audio WAMM some where saying that they sound better, but that is B*S*. The Wilson Audio WAMM's are too hevey on the bass and don't have the clarity of these. If you are looking for perfecton and can aford the big price tag buy these! You will need good other equipment.

For Value I give these a 1 star because no one can afford them except the VERY rich or someone who sells there house.

For Overall Rating I give these a 5 star because if price is no object then these don't approach perfection, they are perfection. They sound grate!" - audiophile review

The measure of The Gaudi's capabilities may be appreciated in a rather straightforward demonstration we have conducted many times at our facilities. This involves, very simply, using the speakers as a public address system for reproducing a live jazz band. The ability of The Gaudi to capture not only the precise timbres of individual instruments but their full dynamic range is quite simply astonishing and comes remarkably close to fooling the ears of even experienced listeners.

While all German Physiks are similarly accurate in reproducing the essential sounds of individual instruments, The Gaudi is unique in its ability to convey musical dynamics from the faintest pianissimo to full orchestral crescendi. One has grown accusto-med to audiophile speakers of very modest output levels, but the Gaudi gives away nothing to professional concert arrays in regard to sheer volume, while retaining the signature German Physiks finesse and fidelity.

SPECIFICATION - DATA SHEET

The new Gaudi has new bass drivers and a new crossover design. Even when they are producing the best in the world they do not rest on their laurels.

The Gaudi manages this seemingly impossible feat by incorporating an extravagant number of the world's finest drivers. Fully four DDD bending wave transducers are used per side in a line array, augmented with eight 6" metal cones for midbass and four 12" honeycomb flatcones mounted in stainless steel frames for the subwoofer columns.

The sub bass drivers are one of the largest flatcones ever constructed, and feature 6" underhung voice coils within two separate magnetic structures. Double spiders are employed to stabilize the diaphragm. Each dome has a continuous power rating exceeding a thousand watts, and the diaphragm itself, consisting of a honeycomb laminate of carbon fiber and aluminum, is literally like armor plate. The acceleration of these remarkable low bass drivers simply must be experienced to be believed.

Separate acoustically inert enclosures are provided for each of the three driver arrays.

Uniquely, the DDD line source may be precisely physically positioned in relation to the bass enclosures for optimal phasing by mean of telescoping aluminum mountings driven by linear actuators. Triple-amplification is mandatory, and German Physiks electronic crossovers are highly recommended.

Cabinets are finished in hand matched, finely figured hardwood veneers enriched with multiple hand buffed layers of high gloss polyester lacquer. To prevent warpage over time, cabinet interiors as well as exteriors are both veneered and lacquered.
Originally conceived as a custom made one-off for demonstrating our most advanced loudspeaker technologies, The Gaudi proved such a sensation at industry presentations and prompted so many sales inquiries that we decided to make it a regular albeit limited production product.

The Gaudi is necessarily costly, but offers performance that is simply unavailable elsewhere, and the system has been cited as the ultimate prestige loudspeaker by many respected reviewers. Don't hesitate to contact us for further information..

The Electronic Crossover

Designed explicitly for use with German Physiks speaker systems, ours is the most uncompromising active crossover ever made. Of dual mono design, this remarkable unit utilizes dual transformers, rectifiers, capacitor banks, and incorporates power supplies larger than then in most consumer amplifiers. Audiophile grade Burr Brown and Analog Devices op amps are used exclusively along with special low ESR filter capacitors. Separate high quality potentiometers are provided for both high and low pass sections in both channels, and the phase of the subwoofer is continuously adjustable over a range of 180 degrees. RCA and XLR connectors are provided at both input and output for both channels and both sections of each channel.

Acapella Sphaeron Excalibur When the music is soft, the sounds caress your skin. When it changes into a powerful fortissimo, the listener will be swept away to the epitome of joy.

Kharma Grand Exquisite The grand Exquisite materializes the absolute end of the high-end in audio, using reality as a reference.

Luxurious in sight, touch and sound, the 2010 delivers the highest level of satisfaction. The gain stages are built entirely of discrete components. The original 990 series was developed in the best recording studios and used in the earliest Boulder power amplifiers.

German Physiks The Loreley MKIII Completely effortless, that’s the best way I can describe the sound of the new Loreley, Startling dynamics cymbals crash and shimmer with such lifelike finesse, whilst betraying no character of its own. The Loreley is truly neutral and just lets the music pour forth uninhibited. Close your eyes and you can hear every nuance of the recorded venue, pages being turned in the orchestra pit, or a guitarist tapping his feet while playing. Not so much a soundstage as the actual stage being reproduced.

Acapella Triolon Excalibur"Paul Messenger was on hand for a demonstration of Acapella's top-of-the-line Triolon Excalibur loudspeakers. After the impressive demonstration, Paul exclaimed, "That actually sounds like a real piano!" And that, of course, is what it's all about."
