German Physics - HRS 120

HRS stands for our most recent speaker line, which has to be classified just below the extremely successful Borderland family. As with all German-Physiks speakers, the focal point here is our unique DDD converter, the only all-round shining bending-wave full-scale converter in the world.

we've started from scratch again with the HRS line and challenged all the earlier established switch controls, casing principles and parameters. Firstly, using lavish simulations, we figured out a casing that did justice to our requirements.

The result is a casing with integrated Helmholz resonator and a bass chassis produced in Germany. Together, they make the perfect balance. A very dynamic, dry and extremely controlled, deep-reaching bass, which never becomes thick or blurred even with large speakers and provides homogeneous sound characteristics with the DDD converter.

As all German-Physiks speakers, the HRS-120 is a musical instrument that gives its owner pleasure even after many years of use. Even though the HRS models are our entry-level line, we still only use parts for them, as with our reference models, which have a life expectancy of at least 25 years.

All screws, spikes and the conductor pad are made from v4 stainless steel. The woods are sorted in pairs and thus always provide a unique individual piece. All high polish speakers have a multi-level coat, which can be simply re-polished if the surface gets a crack over the course of many years of use. It goes without saying that the HRS-120 has exactly the same lavish construction features as all other German-Physiks speakers.

Totally laminated from the inside out with 7 mm thick plastic plates, which contain thousands of small steel ball-bearings, then seamlessly covered with 10 mm thick felt.
On request, the HRS can also be supplied with a carbon casing.

German Physiks The Unicorn MKII On live recordings, such as Harry Belafonte Returns to Carnegie Hall [LSO 6007] or Chet Baker in Sweden [Dragon, DRLP 56], stray footfalls, hands tapping soundboxes, and so on form a continuous ambient seepage over the Unicorns. At the same time, the reverberant field that constitutes hall ambiance is followed down to the furthest
pianissimo level. - The Absolute Sound, DAN SWEENEY

Acapella LaCampanella"The Acapella LaCampanella is the best horn speaker I have experienced in memory. Never mind the LaCampella being a horn speaker, because they are one of the most differentiating in tonality among speakers I've used. Listening to music via the Acapella could drive a reviewer to retire, and I found myself listening harder to other speakers in constant search of a flamboyancy when the Acapella was taken out of the system." - by Constantine Soo September 3, 2005

Kharma Ceramique 2.3"climb right into the venue of the music and watch the musicians perform. No other loudspeaker has done this for me. It is an extraordinary experience, way beyond the loudspeakers merely disappearing." - Enjoy the Music
