Technical Data

The BAL-600 is precision-crafted from high-purity Silver with our exclusive ESC (elliptical solid core) signal wire, applying our optimized aspect-ratio, creating a specialized skin-to-core profile for the signal to travel within.

Our special "Gossamer" air articulated PTFE insulators are concentrically wound in multiple layers for geometric precision and mechanical damping. Gossamer provides an extremely fast velocity of propagation, low capacitance, and low resonance quality for the entire length of the signal wire.

The BAL-600's dual, discrete helically-wound shields behave as if they were a solid tube of metal, reducing signal leakage and creating a quiet and serene environment for the delicate signal to travel within. Together with layers of Gossamer between them, shields help to form a quasi constrained-layer arrangement for additional damping of vibration.

The signal conductors are terminated using our intimately stressed contact resistance soldering process (ISCoRS), a clean and reliable procedure that we believe is superior to traditional soldering methods. Our SVX-4947 formula is a low temperature eutectic (143 degrees Centigrade) silver-bearing solder, is among the most conductive solders in the world, and doesn't subject the signal wire or contact pin to the potential damage of the extreme heat that is typical of traditional soldering methods.
