STEREOVOX VESPA

A single-jacket, stereo cable based on our Studio Line's tubular copper conductor, Vespa is one of the most revealing interconnects you can buy at any price. Terminated with Stereovox RCAs in the ISC method. PTFE dielectric.

"Universal, thats what the Vespa is, no matter what system it it slotted into the Stereovox Vespa have an almost universal appeal, drawing admirers from every audition. They do not fall into the trap of becoming tone controls and thus have the ability to work well in any system.

So there you have it, a great cable at a very affordable price. If you’re shopping for interconnects in this price range, you owe it to yourself to give the Stereovox Vespa a listen.""

STEREOVOX VESPA

From 1997 to the present, Chris has dedicated his focus to creating the finest and most precise audio cables in the world under the STEREOVOX brand. Employing high technology precision solutions typically reserved for military, aerospace and surveillance industries, Stereovox cables are themselves extreme examples of precision audio cable design and execution.
Stereovox cables complete the rarest of reference audio systems, and bridge the gap between Audio and Music.

Technical Data

Our cables are grouped into different series, and geometries and technology can differ greatly depending upon the series. For instance: Analog cables in the Studio line employ tubular copper conductors in solid (high density) PTFE dielectrics, while cables from the Reference line use microfilar pure silver conductors encased in air-articulated (low density) PTFE dielectrics.

A word about connectors: We employ Xhadow connectors or our own Stereovox connectors [on Vespa only]. These connectors employ pure copper, plated in silver for the signal-conductors and are designed to allow for ISC soldered termination.

ISC stands for Intimately Stressed Contact, and it simply means that the signal wire and the connector it is attached to are not only in electrical contact with one another – but that they are contacting one another under extremely high stress. This guarantees that the connection, or “joint,” is a perfect one before any solder is applied. Thereafter, solder is applied to create a hermetic seal – never to act as an electrical bridge between wire and connector.

Construction Details

Constructed from pure tape-wrapped Full Density PTFE Teflon, a silver-plated copper woven shield, an FEP jacket and a single high-purity copper conductor with an unusual feature: it is a micro-sized tube with 0.008" thick walls.

This "microtube" feature gives the conductor the skin profile of a 32 AWG conductor while maintaining the lower resistance of a larger gauge. This permits the Vespa to perform with the agility and grace of thin-conductors without suffering from their high resistance - and yet it is also a monocoque product that won't suffer from problems associated with stranded and "litz" designs that have purported to solve the "skin-depth vs. resistance" challenge
