"In every instance the XV2 outperformed the HDXV by a significant and unquestionable margin. Better focus, more transparent, slightly wider and slightly deeper soundscape, better illumination at the back of the stage, slightly more recessed soundscape, tighter bass improving pace and rhythm, as well as revealing more timbre in the bass, better inner details revealing more room tone and timbre, lower noise floor (because there was less noise all over), smoother, more grain-free, more open at the top end revealing better shimmer on the cymbals, better upper harmonics of string instruments, better control of sibilance, etc. All in all, the XV2 is a significant step closer to the master tape." -

STEREOVOX XV2

The most well-regarded digital cable JUST GOT BETTER! We've introduced a special, full-metal foil shield to tighten impedance tolerances and decrease leakage. The result? A pure 75 Ohm GIANT-KILLER while remaining a STONE COLD BARGAIN.

XV2 Debut!

May 1, 2006 ATLANTA, GA STEREOVOX REPLACING HDXV

Not content to rest on their laurels, Stereovox has designed and produced a new digital cable to replace the world-renowned HDXV. The new product, XV2, employs new precision processes and a full-metal-foil beneath the woven shield to tighten impedance tolerances and decrease leakage. The new XV2 digital cable will also be available in 3-cable bundles for use in component video applications. The single XV2 cable will retail for $150.00 up to 1.0m and $50 for each additional 1/2m thereafter. “Still a stone-cold bargain,” quips designer and Signals-SuperFi CEO Chris Sommovigo. “If you thought HDXV was a giant-killer, XV2 will shock and amaze.” Like its predecessor, XV2 will be terminated with 4GHz rated 75 Ohm BNCs and come supplied with a pair of Stereovox’s special BNC to RCA adapters.

STEREOVOX XV2

From 1997 to the present, Chris has dedicated his focus to creating the finest and most precise audio cables in the world under the STEREOVOX brand. Employing high technology precision solutions typically reserved for military, aerospace and surveillance industries, Stereovox cables are themselves extreme examples of precision audio cable design and execution.
Stereovox cables complete the rarest of reference audio systems, and bridge the gap between Audio and Music.

Technical Data

Our cables are grouped into different series, and geometries and technology can differ greatly depending upon the series. For instance: Analog cables in the Studio line employ tubular copper conductors in solid (high density) PTFE dielectrics, while cables from the Reference line use microfilar pure silver conductors encased in air-articulated (low density) PTFE dielectrics.

A word about connectors: We employ Xhadow connectors or our own Stereovox connectors [on Vespa only]. These connectors employ pure copper, plated in silver for the signal-conductors and are designed to allow for ISC soldered termination.

ISC stands for Intimately Stressed Contact, and it simply means that the signal wire and the connector it is attached to are not only in electrical contact with one another – but that they are contacting one another under extremely high stress. This guarantees that the connection, or “joint,” is a perfect one before any solder is applied. Thereafter, solder is applied to create a hermetic seal – never to act as an electrical bridge between wire and connector.
